“Together Through the Generations | An Extended Family Fall Session”

Feb 23, 2026

Some sessions carry a deeper kind of meaning because they bring multiple generations together in one place. This extended family session was filled with exactly that. Love, laughter, and the quiet beauty of simply being surrounded by the people who matter most.

From the very beginning, you could feel how close this family is. Grandparents, parents, and extended family gathered together to celebrate this season of life, creating moments that felt natural and genuine. Extended family sessions are always so special because they freeze time in a way that everyday life rarely allows.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching the grandparents interact with their grandchildren. The gentle hugs, proud smiles, and sweet conversations happening between photos reminded me just how important it is to document these relationships. These are the images families will look back on years from now and feel all over again.

The fall setting gave us the most beautiful backdrop. Golden light filtered through the trees while leaves lined the paths, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere. Nothing felt rushed. Everyone settled into the moment, laughing together and enjoying the chance to simply be present with one another.

Extended family sessions are about more than portraits. They are about honoring legacy and connection. Including grandparents and extended family members adds another layer of storytelling that makes these galleries so meaningful. Watching generations stand side by side, sharing smiles and quiet affection, is always an incredible privilege to document.

I am always so grateful when families trust me with moments like these. Photographs become part of a family’s history, holding onto the love, the laughter, and the people who make a season of life unforgettable.
